1. Организационный момент.

Teacher (T): Good morning, children. I am glad to see you. I think you are ready to begin the lesson. At the lesson we’ll speak about this topic. What is it? We’ll try to guess but now let’s do the task

T: I see. We are going to travel together. But it is necessary for us to find the places that we want to visit. Now you’ll see the sights of London But before we’ll try to guess. What is it?

1. It is the famous clock. It is real bell. You can hear its deep tone on the BBC. People say that it is a face of London.

P1: I think it is Big Ben.
T: You are right. Let’s see this place.

1. It’s the home of the British royal family in London. Outside the palace we can watch a colorful ceremony of the Changing of the Guard.

P2: I think it is Buckingham Palace.
T: You are right.

1. The buildings in which the British parliament sits.

P3: This is the Houses of Parliament.
T: You are right.

1. It is the best-known bridge. It was built in 1897. This bridge is across the Thames.

P4: It is the Tower Bridge.
T: You are right.

1. It is fine cathedral in central London. It was built by Sir Christopher Wren.

P5: It is St. Paul’s Cathedral.
T: You are right

1. It is a large gothic church. It was built in the 11 th century. Almost all kings and queens have been crowned there. Many famous British people buried there.

P6: It is Westminster Abbey.
T: You are right.

T: OK you know a lot of places in London. But we can lose our way. It will be very important for you to ask some help. If you know the way you‘ll help the person to find the way. Take these cards and translate them into English. And then show you own dialogue with your partner. You have five minutes to do it.

— Простите меня. Не могли бы вы сказать, как найти Вестминстерское Аббатство.

— О это очень просто. Вы видите Дом Парламента. Рядом с Домом Парламента вы можете увидеть Вестминстерское Аббатство.

— О спасибо большое.

— Простите меня. Я ищу Кровавую Башню. Я так хочу ее увидеть. Не могли бы вы мне сказать, где она, пожалуйста?

— О она просто напротив вас Вы не знаете ,но Кровав я Башня это часть Лондонского Тауэра.

— О спасибо большое.

— Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to Westminster Abbey, please?

— Oh. It is very easy. Can you see this building?

You see the House of Parliament. Near the House of Parliament you can see Westminster Abbey.

— Oh. I see. Thank you very much.

— You are welcome.

— Excuse me I am looking for the Bloody Tower.

I’d like to see this place. Can you tell mу where it is, please?

— It’s just in front of you. You know but the Bloody Tower is a part of the Tower of London.

— Thank you very much.

6. Развитие навыков чтения.

T: I think we are ready to travel. But it is so pity. We have a problem. I have an interesting story about one of the magical places. But in this story there are some missing words. Help me please. You will put missing verbs from the box in the right form. Read, translate and answer the questions. (Приложение 2)

Тема урока: The sights of London.

Цель урока: 1). Познакомить учащихся с достопримечательностями Лондона.

Задачи: а). Повторение, закрепление лексики по теме “The UK” и универсальной лексики.

1. Организационный момент. Лексическая разминка.

Good morning, children. I am glad to see you. Sit down, please. Who is on duty today? Who is absent? Thank you. How are you? And you? Good. Today we are going to speak about the sights of London and to learn more information about them. Our lesson will be unusual. We’ll make a trip to London and I will be your guide. We are going to make our trip on the famous English bus called “Double – decker”. You will get bus passes for the rights answers. The right answer – the bus pass.

So, let’s start. Repeat after me, please. But first we are going to learn a small poem about London.

London – the beautiful,

London – the great,

World’s famous city

We’ll visit today.

And now we are going to repeat it all together. Well, I am going to put away a line by line. So, let’s repeat it one more time. Good. Who wants to get a bus pass. Come here and tell us a poem. Well, now we are ready to start our trip.

Развитие навыков слушания и зрительного восприятия информации.

There are many great cities in the world, but there is one where you see past in the present and present in the past. It is London. And we start our trip from Trafalgar Square.

The centre of London is Trafalgar Square. Some people say it is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument. There are two beautiful fountains in the square. They are in front of the National Gallery.

And now you can see Big Ben.

The big clock on the Palace of Westminster in London is often called Big Ben. But Big Ben is really the bell of the clock. It is the biggest clock bell in Britain. It weights 13.5 tones. The clock tower is 318 feet high. You have to go up 374 steps to reach the top.The minute — hand is 14 feet long. The hour – hand is 9 feet long. The clock bell is called Big Ben after Sir Benjamin Hall. He was a big man. Someone said for a joke, «Why not call the clock Big Ben?» Now the bell is known all over the world.

And on this photo you can see The Houses of Parliament.

It is the place where the British government seat.

It is the Westminster Abby.

It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. It is very old. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there. Many English queens and kings are buried there.

Her you can see St. Paul’s Cathedral.

It is one of the greatest English churches. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17 th century after the Great Fire. It took him 35 years. It is the beautiful building with many columns and towers.

The Tower Bridge is known all over the world.

It is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. It has two large towers on both sides. If you get into them up you will be able to see nearly the whole London.

Near the bridge is the Tower of London.

Hundred of years ago the Tower of London was a castle. It was planned by William the Coqueror. Then it was a fortress, a palace, a prison, the King’s Zoo and now it is a museum. There are always black ravens in the Tower of London. People keep them there and look after them well as they believe that London will be rich while ravens live there.

And at the end we can see the Buckingham Palace.

The Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace. It is her official residence. It is a wonderful building with a monument in front of which is the Queen Victoria Memorial.

Достопримечательности Лондона. Колесо обозрения.

1.создание условии для обсуждения по теме, используя лексико-грамматические навыки.

2.совершенствование умении и навыков практического владения английским языком по теме по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудированию,говорению,чтению и письму.

Welcome to London! There are many nice squares in London. Trafalgar Square is most famous one. You can see a statue of Lord Nelson.

Let’s go further. Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace is the London home of the Queen. It was built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham. It is like a small town, with a police station, two post offices, a hospital, a disco, and a cinema.

1р: Our next stop is Westminster Abbey. It is a symbol of England. The legend says that Westminster Abbey was founded by St Peter himself. It is a very important church because the coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place here.

The Houses of Parliament is the seat of British Parliament. It consists of the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

The famous clock Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament. Big Ben is really a bell. You hear it every hour. It weighs about 14 tons.

2р: Welcome to St Paul’s Cathedral. It was built in 1710 by Christopher Wren. It is the second large church in Europe. Admiral Nelson is buried here.

Now I want to tell you about the Tower of London. It is a very old building which has a long and cruel history. It was a fortress, a royal palace and later a prison. You can find here the White Tower and The Bloody Tower too.

The ravens are another famous sign. The legend says that without them the Tower will fall.

London is situated on the Thames. There are 17 bridges across the river. One is them is Tower Bridge. It was built in 1894.

3р: From Trafalgar Square it is only a short way to Piccadilly Circus. In the centre of Piccadilly Circus there is a bronze fountain.

Royal Festival Hall is one of the famous halls in London where you can find MOMI.

Tate Gallery opened in 1897 and is named after Sir Henry Tate, a sugar tycoon. He was a very rich man and collected paintings.
