Урок английского языка в 5 классе.

Тема урока: The sights of London.

Цель урока: 1). Познакомить учащихся с достопримечательностями Лондона.

Задачи: а). Повторение, закрепление лексики по теме “The UK” и универсальной лексики.

б). Повторение и закрепление звуков.

в). Активизация знаний о Достопримечательностях Великобритании.

г). Продолжение знакомства с Лондонскими памятниками истории.

2). Развивать умение работать в парах. Развивать основные учебные навыки. Сохранять здоровье детей.

а). Создание условий для эффективной работы в парах.

б). Организация работы в парах.

в). Развивать умение активизировать и использовать пассивную лексику.

г). Развивать навык монологической речи.

д). Развивать зрительную память.

е). Использовать смену видов деятельности учащихся я целью предотвращения быстрой утомляемости.

ж). Проведение физкульт. минутки с целью сохранения здоровья учащихся.

3). Прививать терпимость и уважение к чужим национальным памятникам культуры и истории. Прививать навыки общения с ровесниками.

1. Организационный момент. Лексическая разминка.

Good morning, children. I am glad to see you. Sit down, please. Who is on duty today? Who is absent? Thank you. How are you? And you? Good. Today we are going to speak about the sights of London and to learn more information about them. Our lesson will be unusual. We’ll make a trip to London and I will be your guide. We are going to make our trip on the famous English bus called “Double – decker”. You will get bus passes for the rights answers. The right answer – the bus pass.

2. Фонетическая разминка.

So, let’s start. Repeat after me, please. But first we are going to learn a small poem about London.

London – the beautiful,

London – the great,

World’s famous city

We’ll visit today.

And now we are going to repeat it all together. Well, I am going to put away a line by line. So, let’s repeat it one more time. Good. Who wants to get a bus pass. Come here and tell us a poem. Well, now we are ready to start our trip.

3). Введение нового материала.

Развитие навыков слушания и зрительного восприятия информации.

There are many great cities in the world, but there is one where you see past in the present and present in the past. It is London. And we start our trip from Trafalgar Square.

The centre of London is Trafalgar Square. Some people say it is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument. There are two beautiful fountains in the square. They are in front of the National Gallery.

And now you can see Big Ben.

The big clock on the Palace of Westminster in London is often called Big Ben. But Big Ben is really the bell of the clock. It is the biggest clock bell in Britain. It weights 13.5 tones. The clock tower is 318 feet high. You have to go up 374 steps to reach the top.The minute — hand is 14 feet long. The hour – hand is 9 feet long. The clock bell is called Big Ben after Sir Benjamin Hall. He was a big man. Someone said for a joke, «Why not call the clock Big Ben?» Now the bell is known all over the world.

And on this photo you can see The Houses of Parliament.

It is the place where the British government seat.

It is the Westminster Abby.

It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. It is very old. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there. Many English queens and kings are buried there.

Her you can see St. Paul’s Cathedral.

It is one of the greatest English churches. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17 th century after the Great Fire. It took him 35 years. It is the beautiful building with many columns and towers.

The Tower Bridge is known all over the world.

It is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. It has two large towers on both sides. If you get into them up you will be able to see nearly the whole London.

Near the bridge is the Tower of London.

Hundred of years ago the Tower of London was a castle. It was planned by William the Coqueror. Then it was a fortress, a palace, a prison, the King’s Zoo and now it is a museum. There are always black ravens in the Tower of London. People keep them there and look after them well as they believe that London will be rich while ravens live there.

And at the end we can see the Buckingham Palace.

The Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace. It is her official residence. It is a wonderful building with a monument in front of which is the Queen Victoria Memorial.

Well, and now you are to make a small task. You should match the name of the sight and the picture.

1. Организационный момент.

Teacher (T): Good morning, children. I am glad to see you. I think you are ready to begin the lesson. At the lesson we’ll speak about this topic. What is it? We’ll try to guess but now let’s do the task

T: I see. We are going to travel together. But it is necessary for us to find the places that we want to visit. Now you’ll see the sights of London But before we’ll try to guess. What is it?

1. It is the famous clock. It is real bell. You can hear its deep tone on the BBC. People say that it is a face of London.

P1: I think it is Big Ben.
T: You are right. Let’s see this place.

1. It’s the home of the British royal family in London. Outside the palace we can watch a colorful ceremony of the Changing of the Guard.

P2: I think it is Buckingham Palace.
T: You are right.

1. The buildings in which the British parliament sits.

P3: This is the Houses of Parliament.
T: You are right.

1. It is the best-known bridge. It was built in 1897. This bridge is across the Thames.

P4: It is the Tower Bridge.
T: You are right.

1. It is fine cathedral in central London. It was built by Sir Christopher Wren.

P5: It is St. Paul’s Cathedral.
T: You are right

1. It is a large gothic church. It was built in the 11 th century. Almost all kings and queens have been crowned there. Many famous British people buried there.

T: You are right.

T: OK you know a lot of places in London. But we can lose our way. It will be very important for you to ask some help. If you know the way you‘ll help the person to find the way. Take these cards and translate them into English. And then show you own dialogue with your partner. You have five minutes to do it.

— Простите меня. Не могли бы вы сказать, как найти Вестминстерское Аббатство.

— О это очень просто. Вы видите Дом Парламента. Рядом с Домом Парламента вы можете увидеть Вестминстерское Аббатство.

— О спасибо большое.

— Простите меня. Я ищу Кровавую Башню. Я так хочу ее увидеть. Не могли бы вы мне сказать, где она, пожалуйста?

— О она просто напротив вас Вы не знаете ,но Кровав я Башня это часть Лондонского Тауэра.

— О спасибо большое.

— Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to Westminster Abbey, please?

— Oh. It is very easy. Can you see this building?

You see the House of Parliament. Near the House of Parliament you can see Westminster Abbey.

— Oh. I see. Thank you very much.

— You are welcome.

— Excuse me I am looking for the Bloody Tower.

I’d like to see this place. Can you tell mу where it is, please?

— It’s just in front of you. You know but the Bloody Tower is a part of the Tower of London.

— Thank you very much.

6. Развитие навыков чтения.

T: I think we are ready to travel. But it is so pity. We have a problem. I have an interesting story about one of the magical places. But in this story there are some missing words. Help me please. You will put missing verbs from the box in the right form. Read, translate and answer the questions. (Приложение 2)

8. Обобщающий лексический тест.

London is very interesting place I think we’ll learn more information about this city in our future. And now let’s check your knowledge. Look at me you can find the paper with this test. Try to find the right answers. (Приложение 3)

Далее озвучивается тема урока. Исходя из темы урока, учащиеся вместе с учителем формулируют цели урока. Совместное целеполагание способствует повышению мотивации учащихся, которая поддерживается в ходе всего урока разнообразием видов речевой деятельности, использованием игровых моментов на уроке.

Ход и содержание урока

2. Введение темы урока. Совместное целеполагание. Слайд 2.

Работа над произношением слов по изучаемой теме. Индивидуальное и хоровое повторение.

4. Речевая разминка. Слайд 4.

Игра с мячом. Учитель говорит утверждение и бросает мяч. Ученик ловит мяч, соглашается или не соглашается с утверждением.

— Red Square is in Moscow.

— Trafalgar Square is in London.

— Moscow is the capital of the UK.

— Moscow is different from London.

— London is the biggest city in the UK.

— You don’t want to visit Great Britain.
