Today we continue speaking about different sights of London. We’ll learn a lot of new facts about London’s places of interest. Let’s make a tour about London.

1. Организационный момент.

Teacher (T): Good morning, children. I am glad to see you. I think you are ready to begin the lesson. At the lesson we’ll speak about this topic. What is it? We’ll try to guess but now let’s do the task

T: Did you guess the topic of our lesson? I think you did. Today we’ll speak about London’s places of interest. But it is necessary for me to understand what do you thing about these.

T: I see. We are going to travel together. But it is necessary for us to find the places that we want to visit. Now you’ll see the sights of London But before we’ll try to guess. What is it?

1. It is the famous clock. It is real bell. You can hear its deep tone on the BBC. People say that it is a face of London.

P1: I think it is Big Ben.
T: You are right. Let’s see this place.

1. It’s the home of the British royal family in London. Outside the palace we can watch a colorful ceremony of the Changing of the Guard.

P2: I think it is Buckingham Palace.
T: You are right.

1. The buildings in which the British parliament sits.

P3: This is the Houses of Parliament.
T: You are right.

1. It is the best-known bridge. It was built in 1897. This bridge is across the Thames.

P4: It is the Tower Bridge.
T: You are right.

1. It is fine cathedral in central London. It was built by Sir Christopher Wren.

P5: It is St. Paul’s Cathedral.
T: You are right

1. It is a large gothic church. It was built in the 11 th century. Almost all kings and queens have been crowned there. Many famous British people buried there.

P6: It is Westminster Abbey.
T: You are right.

5. Развитие навыков диалогической речи .Проверка домашнего задания.

T: OK you know a lot of places in London. But we can lose our way. It will be very important for you to ask some help. If you know the way you‘ll help the person to find the way. Take these cards and translate them into English. And then show you own dialogue with your partner. You have five minutes to do it.

— Простите меня. Не могли бы вы сказать, как найти Вестминстерское Аббатство.

— О это очень просто. Вы видите Дом Парламента. Рядом с Домом Парламента вы можете увидеть Вестминстерское Аббатство.

— О спасибо большое.

— Простите меня. Я ищу Кровавую Башню. Я так хочу ее увидеть. Не могли бы вы мне сказать, где она, пожалуйста?

— О она просто напротив вас Вы не знаете ,но Кровав я Башня это часть Лондонского Тауэра.

— О спасибо большое.

— Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to Westminster Abbey, please?

— Oh. It is very easy. Can you see this building?

You see the House of Parliament. Near the House of Parliament you can see Westminster Abbey.

— Oh. I see. Thank you very much.

— You are welcome.

— Excuse me I am looking for the Bloody Tower.

I’d like to see this place. Can you tell mу where it is, please?

— It’s just in front of you. You know but the Bloody Tower is a part of the Tower of London.

— Thank you very much.

6. Развитие навыков чтения.

T: I think we are ready to travel. But it is so pity. We have a problem. I have an interesting story about one of the magical places. But in this story there are some missing words. Help me please. You will put missing verbs from the box in the right form. Read, translate and answer the questions. (Приложение 2)

London is very interesting place I think we’ll learn more information about this city in our future. And now let’s check your knowledge. Look at me you can find the paper with this test. Try to find the right answers. (Приложение 3)

Игра с мячом. Учитель говорит утверждение и бросает мяч. Ученик ловит мяч, соглашается или не соглашается с утверждением.

London is an old city. It is more than 2. 000 years old. There are many places of interest in the city: The City, Trafalgar Square, The White Tower , the Tower of London
St. Paul’s Cathedral , The Houses of Parliament, The National Gallery, Nelson’s Column

Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Bridge.

We start from Trafalgar Square with its fountains, a tall column , a statue of Admiral Nelson and the National Gallery.

You can see the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, which lies on the North bank of the Thames. It is the seat of the British Government.

St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most famous church in London. The architect is Sir Christopher Wren.

The most famous tower is The clock Tower or Big Ben. The BBC first broadcasts the chimes on the 31st of December 1923 — there is a microphone in the turret connected to Broadcasting House.

Tower of London founded nearly a millennium ago and expanded upon over the centuries since. The Tower of London has protected the city.

Ladies and gentlemen! Our bus tour has finished.
